One very special day in Atlanta, a wonderful thing happened in the lives of Elizabeth and Michael. Do you know what it was?

A very special little girl named Jessica Ann Smith was born. Everyone at Baptist Hospital was very excited. The whole town of Atlanta had been anxiously awaiting her arrival.

When Topper Turtle heard the news, he gathered everyone together. He declared October 2, 2001, to be a very special birthday for Jessie and an occasion that should be celebrated on the same day every year!

At Baptist Hospital, Stilty Stork assisted Dr. Sharp in delivering Jessie into the world at 6:59 p.m.

"You're a fine baby girl," said Dr. Sharp. "I know your mommy and daddy are proud to have the cutest baby in the world."

Squeaky Squirrel and Bouncer the Bunny weighed and measured little Jessie, who was 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and 17 1/2 inches long at birth.

Mommy and Daddy had wanted to have a baby exactly like Jessie. Their very special delivery had made this one of the happiest days of their lives.

In fact, Jessie seemed to make everyone happy. Even gruff old Grumbly Gopher had to chuckle when Jessie made cute little baby faces.

Soon, the news of Jessie's birth spread far and wide. It seemed everyone in Atlanta was thrilled to hear about Jessie's arrival. When Mrs. Churchmouse heard the news, she became so excited that she fell off of her chair and spilled her tea!

Aunt Denise came to see Jessie and to share in the excitement of her birth. Everyone wanted to watch her, and they were amazed at everything she did.

Aunt Denise smiled at the thought of Jessie growing bigger and stronger day by day. Soon, she would be able to recognize all of the people who love her.

Before long, it was time to go home from the hospital. Elizabeth and Michael said goodbye to everyone who had helped them at Baptist Hospital. They bundled up Jessie for her very first trip to the outside world.

Everything was new and exciting for Jessie. She saw houses and trees for the very first time. The world was quite an interesting place.

At home, there was a very special room that had been prepared for Jessie. Her crib was filled with cute, fluffy toys, and there were many other toys that would give Jessie hours and hours of fun as she grew.

Mommy loved holding and cuddling little Jessie. She talked to her in a soothing, sweet, and loving voice. Sometimes, she even sang little songs as she rocked Jessie back and forth.

Mommy and Daddy took Jessie everywhere they went. They were very proud of Jessie and wanted the whole world to meet their very special little girl.

Since her birth on October 2nd, Jessica Ann Smith has made the world a much happier place. Jessie is truly a very special little person.
